Re: BOC 2006
Thu, November 3, 2005 - 3:17 PMFINALLY, we get to start talking about BOC '06.
i seem to recall smoove getting blamed for the lack of bacon, but then again, he is something of a blame-magnet.
i volunteer to show up, rock out, freak out & crack out. in that order.

Unsu...
Re: BOC 2006
Thu, November 3, 2005 - 3:32 PMwell, i've been talkin' about a way to have bacon ready. i have an idea, but it's just that at the moment, details would need to be worked out.
we should def chat about it because i don't think we should leave it in the hands of smoove, i mean this is a vital, vital part of the morning.
oh, and i could care less about the pancakes. -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Thu, November 3, 2005 - 9:20 PMi think that i... oh wait... nye? nyd? boc? is any of that even under my control? i have a feeling i might find myself in the hands of a power much greater than my own and therefor promise nothing this time around.... -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Fri, November 4, 2005 - 10:49 AMcan someone give me all the info they have on this.
really, I don't live in SF (although I'd like to)
I've never been to a BOC (of this particular variety)
where is it generally?
I see it probly starts at 6 am?
there's a pickup trolley involved?
what on earth should I picture? -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Fri, November 4, 2005 - 1:22 PMLemme help you out... Now close your eyes!
Picture this: Its Nye/Day, you've just wasted all kinds of time and money at the latest attempt to celebrate NYE with Champagne at Midnite, you had an OK time, but mostly feel ripped off. You do what-you-do till about 5, and start to make yourway over to a club that is starting at 6 goes till you say 'uncle' and is straight rocking the breaks in a dark as room full of people finally having a good time. Messines and genreal debauchery of the best kind ensues... and you end up having the best day to start the New Year with that you can imagine. Oh and some serious talent comes through and blows your mind with kick ass music, and there are strippers a strippin', breakers a breakin, and crackheads a crackin. Good times had by all. -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Fri, November 4, 2005 - 1:28 PMso I should definitely make plans to be in SF for the new year in order to make this happen......
(else plan some ridiculous drive up there after midnight, whoah)
can i bring champagne in there? -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Sun, November 6, 2005 - 6:03 AMNot into the party, at least I don't think so... depends where it is this year I suppose. Its been at Whisper(a bar/club) in the past. Not sure how happy the staff and owner would be if you brought yer' own. But I'll have a mimosa with you bright and early nonetheless. ;P

Re: BOC 2006
Sat, November 5, 2005 - 12:32 PMThat was Simon.. .and I believe he was actually threatening to show up with renegade waffles after his volunteering for pancake making was unmercifully shot down. Did he make waffles? no.... and we've been bitching about the general lack of bacon or waffles all fucking year. -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Sat, November 5, 2005 - 6:40 PMi think there was a tribe started because of the lack of bacon at the last BOC - i think it mite be called blame it on Smoove or Bring on the panda or somthing like that. -
-
-
Re: BOC 2006
Mon, November 7, 2005 - 10:45 AMsimon, yes sounds familiar??
if simon et. al. wants to make pancakes, waffles, bacon ala playa style (colemans on the patio) we may be able to finance a little bit and feed the masses. Whisper has requested NO CREAM CHEESE this year.
xx -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Mon, November 7, 2005 - 12:15 PMI volunteer my most excellent pancake recipe and waffle machine. I did not attend last year (a little too much champagne = earlier bed time), but I would love to get involved this year, especially since I'm a breakfast kind of gal.
-
Re: BOC 2006
Mon, November 7, 2005 - 5:31 PMSimon... that asian guy thats always with me. You've definatly encountered him. He did volunteer last year, but is still bitterly tramatized about being denied the renegade waffles. He was about to do it too... and you would've been pissed...I think we got distracted at the last minute though. Or you scared him off. Think you scared him off. If you want his help, go ask. Hes milkncheese. -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Mon, November 7, 2005 - 5:46 PMWait a minute! I know that guy, he's a fucking lunatic/idiot. No way can he be trusted with food preperation let alone electricity and/or heated implements.
It's true, I wanted to make waffles with an inverter out the back of my subaru the way De Niro fixed air ducts in Brazil but the forces of lethargy overwhelmed and I just ended up dancing on a sprained ankle till about 2pm.
I'll be warming up my rave catering muscles this saturday at PandaMoanEum so come sample my wares and see if they're up to the high level of quality that the Breakfast of Champions demands.
boooya!
"that asian guy" -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Mon, November 7, 2005 - 10:04 PM"fucking asian guy better make bacon or it's no dice"

Re: BOC 2006
Thu, December 15, 2005 - 4:41 PMcouldn't we resolve all this ill-will with a simple "beat-it" video style shake-n-bake off? All aggrieved parties could be tied together to battle it out while the rest of us shake it in artfully choreographed unison. -
-
-
Re: BOC 2006
Thu, December 15, 2005 - 5:41 PMyou know "beat it"... eddie van halen and michael jackson? the gang fight scene at the end? oh never mind. i forgot you're not american. -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Thu, December 15, 2005 - 7:11 PMI like the idea. It probably would result in one of the parties involved hair catching on fire, and the other becoming a child molesting alien. I still like it. -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Fri, December 16, 2005 - 1:17 PMCan BOC tickets be purchased in advance? -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Fri, December 16, 2005 - 4:18 PM..yeah....so that people might be able to avoid standing in line for an hour in the rain @ 7:00 a.m. waiting to get in?
or is that part of the charm? -
-
Re: BOC 2006
Fri, December 16, 2005 - 4:46 PMi think the idea is that few people will actually remember the time spent waiting in that line, so who cares? sorta like circumcision. -

lesson #1:
Thu, January 12, 2006 - 11:55 AMif you're a VIP, and you don't know about the VIP thing, than the VIP thing doesn't exist. even if it does. -
-
Unsu...
Re: lesson #1:
Thu, January 12, 2006 - 11:58 AMYou know you're a VIP because you're on the guestlist.
thanks orange, but i think that explanation is still way to confusing for some of these kids. ya know, don't overestimate them.
still on the fence for NOT going to NYC, it's tough. -

Re: lesson #1:
Thu, January 12, 2006 - 12:27 PMwell, i do agree with Orangie-girl...but like even though
